What shall I think about, Mommy?" were the words I heard every evening from Matilda, after her father fell ill. Matilda was six years old and her sister Josefine was two years older. I began to give Matilda an idea to think about before she went to sleep each night. These ideas were just the starting points from which Matilda would develop a story, taking her thoughts on new journeys. It soon became a comforting bedtime routine. I discovered that it calmed her down and helped her cope with the distressing situation we were in. This book contains both thought-provoking phrases for children to think about and from which they can create their own stories, and several other methods for coping with difficult and stressful situations.
