Förlagets beskrivning
Regulations and the lack of competition in the Swedish economy give rise to the substantial costs for the private consumer. They are accompanied by high prices and poor quality of goods and services. In the long run, they will restrict product development and inhibit the growth of productivity.
Is Sweden an expensive country and if so why? How regulated is the Swedish economy? What forms should continued deregulation take? How can competition be strengthened? What is the relationship between business climate and competition? How does consumer protection operate in relation to the health service and the care of the elderly? How do regulations affect industrial innovation and change? What will be the pressures for structural change in the Swedish economy as a result of the EMU? What position should Sweden adopt in relation to EMU membership?
In this year’s report, the SNS Economic Policy Group signposts a road that could lead Sweden towards greater prosperity.
