Förlagets beskrivning
Black Politics 2.0" explores the state of black politics prior to and during the political advent of President Barack Obama.
The narrative highlights the political juxtaposition between the civil rights movement and the black power movement in the 1960s and 1970s, wherein the "civil rights" leadership paradigm prevailed over of "black power" advocates and the African consciousness movement. Ultimately, the political powers that be supported "responsible" Negro leadership exemplified by the civil rights orthodoxy over the black political power advocates following a tumultuous community based dynamic. Hence, the African American community inherited the "civil rights" leadership paradigm that remained prominent until the political rise of President Obama. Apparently, during Senator Obama's planning process for gaining the Democratic Party nomination, the 2008 election and re-relation, the politically astute Senator Obama realized that the black political leadership was stuck on politics 101... The traditional black leadership, such as it is, as a practical matter is inconsequential and dysfunctional as the substance of the book points out.
Also, the behavior of the black leadership, elected and unelected, over the past 8 years points to the fact that there is a desperate need for a broad based political discourse at all levels as to the political road ahead for the black community at large in the 21st century. Black Politics 2.0, by way of the two main characters, CadreUSA and Spike, dialogue on the status of black politics and leadership over the years... In addition to the dialogue, colorful accounts and interactions between current black political leaders and would-be political leaders, in addition to "celebrity" political leaders formulate the relative context of the book
