While sitting on the couch watching television early Sunday morning the children see a commercial about a circus that is in town for the last day. Marie wants desperately to go to the circus, but the father has other plans, like running errands and painting his wife's office. When family friend Mr. Ticklebritches, comes to visit, she asks him to paint thinking that it will free her father up to take her and Foster to the circus. Her scheme gets her into big trouble. The following weekend Mr. Ticklebritches comes by and is injured. The children aide him and later present him with a gift of something that he really, really needs. The children learn a big lesson in looking out for other's needs first, instead of their own
