Professional Writing in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, now in its second edition, is an excellent resource for students of communication sciences and disorders. It is commonly used as a textbook for courses in clinical methods, practice, and professional issues. Throughout the text, the authors use humor to show that learning to be a better professional writer does not require drudgery, and they use anecdotal material, and self-help questions to help illustrate issues under discussion.
For the second edition, the authors have updated the content to reflect the changes in the most recent edition of the Publication Manual of the APA Manual of Style, as well as changes in the Graduate Record Exam and Praxis Exam. They have also added a new chapter on English grammar. The second edition will combine both first editions of the textbook and the workbook. There is no longer a corresponding CD included; instead access to a dedicated website.
