Song Poems from the Cumulus Cloud The song poems in this collection for all hours of the day and night are meant to be read, enjoyed and performed-in your mind and imagination, or physically-onstage or off. The music for each is intended to emphasize and sustain the dramatic mode and mood of each poem, rather than to provide a set melody or tune for the poem as song. Please feel free to improvise to the music, singing whatever notes you may choose to sing to further enhance each song poem, or, if you like, perform a dramatic reading of each piece along with the music, based on what it says to you. Your performance should also include movement since each poem is intended to evoke kinetic response, so dance, mime or move about, too-and most of all, Enjoy! Each essay focuses on the inherent kinetic qualities, or movement, in an art form and how we use and are benefited by these qualities in our current daily lives.
