In 1938, after years of drought and dust storms, the rains begin to return and the Noble family finally has a promising crop of corn; but during the night, a light rain turns into hail. In the morning, upon finding their crop destroyed, the children located their parents in the field distraught over their loss and they began to cry. The mother turns to the children and repeats a phrase she used throughout their lives, "No More Tears, No More Tears, it will all be better tomorrow." After many challenges, the outbreak of WWII opens a new door for the Noble Family. Because of a demand for copper, they learn of need for miners in Arizona. They move and the father becomes a miner as they live in a small dwelling at the foot of the Cole Mine in Bisbee, Arizona. Their living room becomes a grocery store for a small community grocery store and the Noble Family and their strong work ethic results in a happy, successful life
