Annabella, Teddy and the Rainbow Trail Annabella is not happy. Bad things keep happening. Then Teddy, a rescue dog, comes to live with Annabella and her family. Teddy has a secret and, after it is revealed, they have some fantastic adventures. They follow the Rainbow Trail to Rainbow Land, a happy place. There they are welcomed by the Rainbow People, enjoy music, dancing, and a special dessert. Before Annabella and Teddy continue their journey along the Rainbow Trail, they are warned about a gloomy place ahead. Escape is only possible if you keep these words in mind: Look for the sunshine, keep going, and do not quit. They become trapped there anyway. Will they remember the special words and use them so they can escape and find their way home? The Author Shirley Carvatt, a retired teacher, graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, and from Rutgers University with a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. The author is a New Jersey native, born and raised in Piscataway. A widow, she resides with her brother Fred and the real Teddy, her Golden Retriever, in the beautiful rolling hills of Western New Jersey, only leaving them to travel. She has visited many countries and most of the United States. Her previous books are PORT TRAVIS, about a fictional family paralleling the construction, history, and life of New Jersey’s Morris Canal, and SKIRMISH AT VAN NEST’S MILL, about a fictional family during the Revolutionary War. The Illustrator Dennis Gerhart graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. After a tour of duty with the United States Marine Corps, he worked with architects and designers for more than forty years. Dennis has a long interest in early Pennsylvania transportation and history and has produced many pen-and-ink drawings and watercolors. He illustrated TALES OF THE TOWPATH for the Delaware & Lehigh National Corridor and has produced a series of drawings for displays along the Delaware Canal in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Dennis resides outside of Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania with his wife Maria and sons Jesse and Dylan
