Attu, a roving polar bear, will explore in this 45 book series many of our National Parks, plus other interesting areas such as the Alcan Highway, Washington D.C., Hawaii and many other cool places. Cool, can you believe that I am looking at the Old Faithful geyser. Old Faithful is the most famous geyser in the world. Here I met up with my good friend, ranger Jenny. Ranger Jenny told me that Yellowstone National Park has more than 10, 000 geothermal features. Do you know what a geothermal feature is? Old Faithful is one of these geothermal features. Yellowstone has many geysers, steam vents, mud pots and thermal pools. These are four types of geothermal features that I have visited in Yellowstone. What does geothermal mean? Geothermal means that the water that we see at the surface is being heated hundreds and even thousands of feet underground. Then it squeezes through cracks in the earth to come out where we see these beautiful and very interesting pools, mud pots, vents and geysers.
