The foldiers firfi conduét the general into the guard-room, then efcort him to a place of fafety, with bay yonets fixed, and ih all the forms of military triumph. I will not enlarge upon the va rious circumftances which attended this a.s trocious proceedmg. The perfonal injury received by the o icers of thelaw 1n the exe eution of their duty, may perhaps be atoned for by fame private compénfation. I con fider nothing hut the wound, which has been given to the law itfelf, to which no remedy has been applied, no fatisfaé'tion made.
