Förlagets beskrivning
The History of the Sport of Casting, Early Times gives a year by year account of casting competitions from 1860 to 1942 and of the casting scores and records through 1955. The book has 385 pages of records and reprinted articles describing tournaments and sportfishing events, such as the fisheries exhibit at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893. There are more than 175 pictures and illustrations of sportfishermen, fishing tackle and fishing techniques from the early times. The articles on bamboo rods and baitcasting reels will be of particular interest to the collector or fishing tackle buff. There are invaluable accounts given of those involved in developing methods of fish conservation as well as descriptions of some of the outstanding authors of fishing literature. Included also are biographical sketches of casters and sportsmen and a reference to the flies designed and tied by them. This book is a must for any fishing library or collection of fishing literature
