Förlagets beskrivning
In this book, Butler-Derge examines whether female and male students utilized different communication skills than one another to resolve conflict. Butler-Derge uses data polled from students of the Rufus King School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to complete her informational survey. The data collected was later compiled and analyzed to bring forward initial information reported in the study that inspired this book. The results of the informational survey were thoroughly analyzed to represent the data recorded. Results were also compared and contrasted (i.e. gender, grade point average, attendance, suspension rate, and high school student perceptions on violence in their schools) to provide a descriptive background of all participants in the study. Overall, this comprehensive, qualitative research design offers insight into the minds of female and male high school students in an attempt to decipher how they communicate with peers to resolve conflict
