Meet the `Team'. Richie and Glenice Carr are experienced and fearless travellers (not tourists!) who have the best travelling accessories in the world: their 11 year-old daughter Tayah and 12-year-old son Daenin. This is no ordinary holiday - it's a three month perspective change, to help the kids appreciate the luck of being born in a `lucky country', and to set them up to be global citizens and accomplished travellers. There are no soft options for the Team; no air-conditioned coaches, and definitely no package tours. From elephants and donkeys to 16 hours in a sardine-style mini-bus, horse drawn carts, pick-up trucks, feluccas down the Nile, and careering through a desert in the back of a 4WD, they take the `road less travelled' through Asia, northern Africa, and the Middle East. Electrocution, baksheesh bandits, flatulent camels and napalm chicken are (mostly) all met with humour, open minds and a pun or two... the occasional kangaroo impression also helps. As Richie says: "All is fair in love, war and taxi negotiations." Richard Carr loved his family and travel. Sadly, he died before his book was published but his stories and spirit of adventure live on in The Unpackaged Tour
