Förlagets beskrivning
This study describes a new theory of personality development that makes two
basic abilities, the ability to love and to negotiate, the cornerstone of
personal competence. This theory is both contextual and relational, in that the
two abilities of love and negotiation are relevant only to the extent that each
of them is applicable to a specific setting. While the first ability is more
relevant to the home, the second is more relevant to the work setting. The theory specifies that two competencies, love and negotiation, need to
be considered within five specific settings: home, work, leisure or surplus
time, transitory and transit. Thus, this theory not only classifies personality
development in a different way from traditional theories, but specifies the
interaction that takes place continuously between abilities and settings. This study describes a new theory of personality development that makes two
basic abilities - to love and to negotiate - the cornerstone of personal
competence. The theory sets these two competencies in the settings of home,
work, leisure time and transit.
